The Never Ending WhyAfter over a hundred grueling chapters, the older Mukuro makes his appearance once more after his defeat against Byakuran. Not only does he receive a two-page spread, fans are quite pleased with who had the biggest reaction at his grand appearance: Tsuna, Hibari and of course, Chrome.
Mukuro incarnated himself without the use of Chrome's body (or any other vessel for that matter); similar to the time when Chrome had first entered the future world and he combined powers with her in order to create a "real" illusion for the first time. When Mukuro had made another "real" illusion of himself, it was without the use of the Vongola ring or Chrome's power. This truly says something about his immense growth in power over the years despite not being able to physically train himself like the rest of the Tsuna-tachi. Not only has he appeared again, but the Kokuyo gang (both new and old members) has freed him from the once called "impregnable" fortress that is the Vendice Prison. The first thing at the top of his itinerary though is not to pick a fight with Tsuna and the gang, but instead to aid them in protecting Uni.
There is no way to stop Byakuran if he ruled this parallel universe as well, and as I've stated before in this tribute, Mukuro would not approve of a Mafioso ruling the universe, much less the world. After Byakuran is defeated by Tsuna and the gang though, what will come next on Mukuro's list of motives? Will he go after Tsuna and pursue his original plan of world destruction? Or has the older Mukuro really had a change of heart over the years and is now just throwing around empty threats? It will be difficult, but until Mukuro understands revenge does not equal inner peace, he can never be a developing character. His personality has not changed at all since his introduction many chapters ago. Even after he gains what he wants (possessing Tsuna's body and having the world at his feet) will he be the type to thirst for more power? Many questions are still left unanswered. Hopefully, Akira Amano won't leave us hanging and solve this case of Mukuro's.
