The Bitter End

Leaving? Thanks for visiting Danger is Sweet! I hope you found what you were looking for, whether it's text heavy fan-essays or the shiny media section, I appreciate that you had stopped by. If you would like to link back to Danger is Sweet or the Kokuyo Project, feel free to use the buttons I have provided below. Please upload them into your own server like Photobucket and do not direct link. If you're looking for how the layout was made, then proceed here.

Creation

What was originally supposed to be a Mukuro & Chrome relationship shrine somehow shifted into a Kokuyo boys fansite and eventually I just decided to make individual sites for the entire Kokuyo Gang. It was a strange process, but I'm glad to have made a tribute to my favorite character in the REBORN! series. I would have wanted a site for Mukuro's lover Hibari too (because he's waaay too easy to make fun of), but this one is already fabulous enough. The names of the links were either made-up by me or "creatively" named after the songs of my favorite band, Placebo.

I never really liked Mukuro when I first came across him to tell you the truth. He came off as a creepy smiling molester if you asked me (I think we know the real reason as to why Hibari hates Mukuro so much). I was actually quite the avid Tsuna and Gokudera fan until the Varia Arc began. Even though I could understand where all this hatred for the mafia stemmed from, Mukuro didn't feel human to me until I saw that touching scene with Chrome, and then followed up with the scene where he makes himself a decoy for Ken and Chikusa's prison break. That really caught me off guard. Here I thought he was just another human-hating magnificent bastard until you see a glimpse of his sweet side. I never like the evil conniving villainous types, and I still don't, but for some reason Mukuro is my weird exception. I've just loved Mukuro since and soon enough I was determined to make the tribute that you see right in front of you today.

Danger is Sweet

Initially, I tried to list words associating with Mukuro, but since that plan didn't work out too well, I moved onto songs—my usual back up plan. That did not go too well either, so I decided to choose from my list of words and attempted to translate them into Italian. It was really difficult to find anything for Mukuro so I resorted to Latin phrases. Seeing as how Mukuro claims to remember his past lives, then it must mean he's an ancient soul, so what's better than using an old language?

That was how I came across the phrase, “dulce periculum.” It was Latin for, “danger is sweet.” It matched so well with Mukuro that I decided to keep it and that was how my tribute received its name. Though nowadays it's beginning to remind me of Haru Miura strangely enough (Haru's Dangerous Interviews ring a bell anyone?)
